The above scenario fits in with the Normative Social Influence. It is a behavioural change seen as necessary just to conform to a specific group (in this scenario, the group consists of the people gathered). Exhibiting this influence causes people to publicly comply to a behaviour that would be unacceptable in private.
This is a psychological and indecisive social state of action in which there is a need to copy the actions or behavior of others in order to make a piratical judgment of an action to take concerning a current situation.
It is essential in a social situation where the appropriate mode of behavior to undertake to suit a current social situation is not known. Therefore imitating the actions of surrounding people,(which may be correct or accurate) is assumed the best piratical judgment to dictates the state of action.
