Why did james madison promise to add a bill of rights to the constitution?
Assoli18 [71]
The original Constitution (proposed in 1787 in Philadelphia) contained very few individual rights guarantees. In the ratification debate, Anti-Federalists (later Jeffersonians) opposed to the Constitution, complained that the new system threatened liberties, and said that if the delegates had cared about protecting individual rights, they would have included provisions. In the end Federalists agreed to take up the matter of a series of amendments, to be called the Bill of Rights.

Pani-rosa [81]

Answer:

the free enterprise system

Explanation:

If an essay were written based on the statements presented in the question above, that essay would have the topic "the free enterprise system". This is because the author of the essay would show arguments, elements and factors that make him agree or disagree with the adoption of this type of commercial system, also showing the advantages and disadvantages of adopting it or not.

For this, the author of the essay should address statements that revolve around the free enterprise system. As we know, the essay topic is one that allows arguments to revolve around their concepts. For this reason, we can say that the free enterprise system would be the topic.

How does Las Casas's account compare with Cortés's?
tensa zangetsu [6.8K]
To briefly sum things up:

- Bartolomé de Las Casas saw the indigenous peoples as equals and believed they should not be treated as less. However, he still wanted to convert them to his religion to "free" them.

- On the other hand, Cortés basically said the indigenous people were perfect for slavery because they lacked the "superior" qualities the Europeans had, and so he definitely thought they were inferior.
