Answer:

The following are five (5) geographic regions in Georgia which are distinct:

1. The Coastal Plain

2. The Appalachian Plateau

3. The Piedmont

4. The Valley and Ridge

5. The Blue Ridge

1. The Costal Plains: It is flat and is covered in a mixture of sand, limestone and clay. In the Coastal Plains, major water features are seen. Some of them are Lake Seminole, the Alapana, Satilla, etc. This region can be seen in the Southern and Southeastern region of Georgia. They go east and south of the Fall line.

2. Appalachian Plateau: It is a flatland with high elevation. It acts as the western border for Appalachian Mountains and it is characterized by limestone caves. It actually occupies a small corner of northwest Georgia.

3. The Piedmont: In this region, rolling hills which have valleys are seen. It is featured with tall hills in some areas. Solid rocks are found in this area. It lies between the Blue Ridge Mountains and the Upper Ridge Mountains. It is located in the Southeastern and mid-Atlantic regions of the United States.

4. The Ridge And Valley: This region has long and parallel ridges and rolling valleys. This region is located west of the Blue Ridge. It stretches from northern New York to Alabama thereby crossing northwest of Georgia.

5. The Blue Ridge: The mountains in this region actually consist of the highest mountain range found in the state. It is located in the North Georgia mountains.
