Devin is 4. Cole is 8. Brendan is 16. Aaron is 12. I used each variable according to the beginning of their name. So B=2C. A+D=B. therefore A+D=2C. C+D=A. therefore, from the previous two equations, C+2D=2C. then 2D=C. and we also know a+b+c+d=40. so i took a+b+3d=40. and we know b=2c and that 2c equals 4d. so a+7d=40. then we know a=d+c and 2d equals c. so now it is a=3d. so 10d equals 40. divide by 10 it is now d=4. and we know 2d=c so 2(4)= coles age. cole is 8. then we know 2(8) equals b which is 16. then lastly 4+8=a which is 12. i can explain better if needed

Which of the following represents a Type I error for the null and alternative hypotheses H0:μ≤$3,200 and Ha:μ&gt;$3,200, where μ
Nuetrik [128]

Answer:

Option a) Type I error would occur if we reject null hypothesis and conclude that the average amount is greater than $3,200 when in fact the average amount is $3,200 or less.

Step-by-step explanation:

We are given the following information in the question:

H_{0}: \mu \leq \$3,200\\H_A: \mu > \$3,200

where μ is the average amount of money in a savings account for a person aged 30 to 40.

Type I error:

  • Type I error is also known as a “false positive” and is the error of rejecting a null  hypothesis when it is actually true.
  • In other words, this is the error of accepting an  alternative hypothesis when the results can be  attributed by null hypothesis.
  • A type I error occurs during the hypothesis testing process when a null hypothesis is rejected, even though it is correct and should not be rejected.

Thus, in the above hypothesis type  error will occur when we reject the null hypothesis even when it is true.

Option a) Type I error would occur if we reject null hypothesis and conclude that the average amount is greater than $3,200 when in fact the average amount is $3,200 or less.

What are the vertical and horizontal asymptotes of f(x)=2x/x-1
Pie

Find the <u>vertical </u>and <u>horizontal</u> <u>asymptotes</u> of the <u>graph</u> of the <u>function</u> f(x)=\dfrac{2x}{x-1}:

1. Vertical asymptote.

Since the denominator of the fraction is x-1, then the vertical asymptote is x=1, because the domain of the function is x\neq 1.

2. Horizontal asymptote.

Rewrite the function f(x):

f(x)=\dfrac{2x}{x-1}=\dfrac{2x-2+2}{x-1}=\dfrac{2(x-1)+2}{x-1}=2+\dfrac{2}{x-1}.

The horizontal asymptote has the equation y=2.

Answer: correct choice is B
