faltersainse [42]

Uncle Tom's Cabin is an antislavery novel by American author Harriet Beecher Stowe. In the novel, the author presents the main character, uncle Tom, in a sympathetic way. Following Southern fashion, she shows respect for the older man. He is portrayed as an example of virtue and dignity, depsite his "lowly" condition. He is also portrayed as being far superior in moral character to white slaveowners.

Uncle Tom is a good Christian, a pacifist, and a brave and strong man. She reveals these characteristics through events such as Uncle Tom saving the life of Litte Eva.
