A layer where the density gradient is greatest within a body of water.

An ocean current is generated by the forces such as breaking waves, terms of temperature and salinity differences, wind, Coriolis effect, and tides caused by the gravitational pull of the Moon and Sun.

Two layers of water with the same salinity, the warmer water will float on top of the colder water. Though, temperature has a greater effect on the density of water than salinity does.

Find the coordinates of a point on the directed segment from (3,-2) to (8,0) that divides it into a ratio of 3:1.
Nadya [2.5K]

Answer:

(x,y) = (\frac{27}{4}, -\frac{1}{2})

Explanation:

Given

(x_1,y_1) = (3,-2)

(x_2,y_2) = (8,0)

m : n = 3 :1

Required

The coordinates of the point

This is calculated using:

(x,y) = \frac{1}{m+n}(mx_2 + nx_1, my_2 + ny_1)

So, we have:

(x,y) = \frac{1}{3+1}(3*8 + 1*3, 3*0 - 1*2)

(x,y) = \frac{1}{4}(27, -2)

So, we have:

(x,y) = (\frac{27}{4}, -\frac{1}{2})

Answer: Please refer to Explanation

Explanation:

Woody Wetlands are wetlands where over 20% of the vegetation consist of forested plants or shrub vegetation. In other words over 20% are covered by trees and plants with wooden structures.

The Great Dismal Swamp is an example as it has quite a number of trees and shrubs. Check the attached picture.

Herbaceous Wetlands on the other hand are dominated by plants considered to be herbaceous in nature. This means that they dominated by grass and plants that are not very woody above the ground. The Florida Everglades are an example of this. I have also attached a picture. The Florida Everglades is the one that looks more like grasses.
