When a seed interacts with soil and water, it absorbs nutrients and begins to sprout. Eventually, this plant will grow out of the ground and into one of many kinds of plants that make up our environment. Different types of plants reproduce in different ways, but the most common form is through bees. Bees carry pollen from one flower to another along their journey for nectar, and end up fertilizing young flowers along the way. These plants will then begin to grow seeds, allowing the cycle to begin anew.

malfutka [58]

Answer:

The answer is B It emphasizes the potential risks many immigrants face.

Explanation:

In the article, Sonia Nazario shows the insensitivity in the process of deportation. The article aimed at conveying the authors concern. Nazario thought it to be a refugee crisis even though the government treated it as immigration crisis. Kids were not coming to the United States for the normal reasons instead they were running from drug wars and violence. Deporting them was only going to take them back to that reality.

Therefore, by repeating the word deport, nazario intends to emphasize the potential risks many immigrants face.

Paladinen [302]

Answer:

Sensitive

Explanation:

As indicated in the excerpt, Valerie was a strong-willed woman who stood her ground on matters. So, it was a bit surprising when she became teary as a result of Steven's words. She became sensitive or delicate instead of tough and unmoved which was how she was normally known to be.

A sensitive person easily responds to other's actions. In other words, they are delicate. That was the same attitude portrayed by Valerie in this excerpt.
