Answer:

Employment in virtually all U.S. manufacturing industries has declined since NAFTA went into effect. Counting jobs that actually left the United States plus those that would have been created if not for rising imports, EPI estimates that NAFTA caused a net loss of 440,000 U.S. jobs.

Eddi Din [679]

Answer:

Purgatory is the spiritual place after death where sinners are punished for their sins to be purified for Heaven.

Explanation:

In the Christian context, Purgatory is the world between the living and the dead where the souls of dead people are kept or taken. And it is here that the souls are "purged" or purified to be eligible to enter Heaven.

But not all sections of Christianity believe in Purgatory. Protestants, in particular, did not believe in it due to the fact that the sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the cross was the greatest 'purification' needed to get to heaven. Moreover, they argued that there is no Biblical evidence to support the existence of purgatory.

Thus, according to the Christian Church, purgatory is the spiritual place after death that punishes and purifies sinners to get to Heaven.

Sever21 [200]

Prior to the War of 1812, the British navy engaged in impressment, which meant that they would force American sailors to work on British ships.

One of the causes of the War of 1812 was because of the British navy forcing American sailors to work on their British ships. Great Britain would try to justify this by saying the sailors were British runaways and they needed to be forced to work on their ships. The United States felt like this was very embarrassing and disheartening to them, as they could not protect their own ships from seizures and kidnapping.

Americans were not happy with this and they eventually had enough. They declared war on Great Britain, because of impressment, but also because of the many other factors that made America fed up with Great Britain.
