Strong as an adjective to describe the anglo saxon race is likely linked to a stereo type based on the colonization of a large portion of the world from this particular group of people. There is no empirical data that those of anglo saxon race are stronger than people from other races.

An accomplishment of the Lewis and Clark expedition was that it recorded information about nature and geography.
Lewis and Clark were not able to find a water route across the continent and did not force native people out of US territory. Neither did they acquire the Louisiana Territory, the territory was acquired by Thomas Jefferson.
