"A Haunted House" by Virginia Woolf
Alexxandr [17]

Repetition is used in this story in order to advance the theme of finding the treasure in thehouse. The house in itself in this story repeats the words "Safe, safe, safe," and this represents thefact that the treasure that the ghostly couple once had and wished to have again was in a safe place inside the house. However, this treasure was not an object as much as a feeling, the feeling of joy and love. The ghost couple had been searching to find it once again in the house before they found out that they could not find it because it had been passed on to the living couple.
