I’m confused, what’s the question ? this statement is correct..?

The word consequences means the outcome of something. I figured out the meaning by looking at what Sergeant Major says, “‘I warn you of the consequences.” He is warning Mr. White of the outcome of what might happen if they make the wishes.
The word would be detract. detract means to take away or lessen the value of something.
