Answer:

6 balloons

Step-by-step explanation:

Clowns Are Fun equation is

y = 1.25x + 6  (1.25 per balloon plus the flat rate $6 delivery charge)

Singing Balloons equation

y = 1.95x + 2  (1.95 per balloon plus the flat rate $2 delivery charge)

We want to know know the value of x that makes Clowns are Fun less that Singing Balloons, so we have the inequality..

1.25x + 6 < 1.95x + 2      now solve for x

4 < 0.7x

  5.7 < x          We can't have 0.7 of a balloon, so we round to 6.

So when she orders 6 or more balloons, the cost of Clowns Are Fun will be cheaper that the cost of Singing Balloons

A stone is thrown at an angle of 30° above the horizontal from the top edge of a cliff with an initial speed of 12 m/s. a stop w
stellarik [79]
To solve this problem you must apply the proccedure shown below:
1. You must apply the following formula:
yo=-(Voy)t+gt²/2
2. You have that:
Voy=VoxSin(30°)
Voy=(12 m/s)(Sin(30°))
Voy=6 m/s
t=5.6 s
g=9.8 m/s²
2. When you susbtitute these values into the formula, you obtain:
yo=-(6 m/s)(5.6 s)+(9.8 m/s^2)(5.6 s)²/2
yo=120.06 m
Therefore, the answer is: 120.06 m

An employee of a store's gift wrapping center is wrapping 8 gifts
Hitman42 [59]

Part A:

The area A of a rectangle is A = bh, where b is the base of the rectangle and h is the height. The area of each rectangle with side lengths 1.5 ft and 2 ft is 1.5 × 2 = 3ft2. Since there are two rectangles with these dimensions, the combined area is 2 × 3 = 6 ft2. The area of each rectangle with side lengths 1.5 ft and 2.5 ft is 1.5 × 2.5 = 3.75 ft2. The area of each rectangle with side lengths 2 ft and 2.5 ft is 2 × 2.5 = 5 ft2. Since there are two rectangles of each type, the combined area is 2 × 3.75 + 2 × 5 =17.5 ft2. So, the total surface area of the box is 6 ft2+ 17.5 ft2 = 23.5 ft2

Part B:

The employee needs to wrap 8 boxes, each with a surface area of 23.5 ft2. So, the combined surface area needing to be wrapped is 8 × 23.5 = 188 ft2. Since there is only 160 square feet of wrapping paper left, the employee will not be able to wrap all of the gifts
