Answer:

108units^2

Step-by-step explanation:

1) area of a trapezoid formula:

((a+b)/2)h

where a=base 1

b= base  2

h=height(24)

so

(8+1)/2=4.5

4.5*24=108

area is 108 units^2

Answer:

108 units²

Step-by-step explanation:

This shape is made of 2 shapes that we know the formula for area. Those 2 shapes are a long rectangle and a triangle. We need to use the formula's to work out the area's of those 2 shape's and then add it together.

→ First of all the area of a triangle is 0.5 × base × height

→ The area of a rectangle is length × width

⇒ We will first work out the area of the triangle but we need the values. The height would 24 and the base length would be 7 because 8 - 1 = 7 so we put these values into the formula,

0.5 × base × height

0.5 × 7 × 24 = 84

So 84 units² is the area of the triangle.

⇒ Now time to work out the area of the rectangle. The length is 24 and the width is 1 so

Width × Length

1 × 24 = 24

So the area of the rectangle is 24 units²

Now we add the two area's together so

24 + 84 = 108 units²

The center of a circle is located at (3, 8), and the circle has a radius that is 5 units long. What is the general form of the e
n200080 [17]
Center of the circle: C=(3,8)=(h,k)→h=3, k=8
Radius of the circle: r=5
Standard form of the equation for the circle:
(x-h)^2+(y-k)^2=r^2
(x-3)^2+(y-8)^2=5^2
(x-3)^2+(y-8)^2=25

General for of the equation for the circle:
(x)^2-2(x)(3)+(3)^2+(y)^2-2(y)(8)+(8)^2=25
x^2-6x+9+y^2-16y+64=25
x^2+y^2-6x-16y+73=25
x^2+y^2-6x-16y+73-25=25-25
x^2+y^2-6x-16y+48=0

Answer: The general form of the equation for the circle is:
x^2+y^2-6x-16y+48=0

A baseball team is hosting a dance as a fundraiser. the cost of 1 individual ticket is $7. the cost of 1 group ticket is $16. th
QveST [7]

Word Problem

To form equations from word problems, we can do the following:

  1. Identify variables
  2. Find key information
  3. Identify word equations and translate into numerical equations
  4. Solve

Solving the Question

We're given:

  • Let x be the number of individual tickets that were sold
  • Let y be the number of group tickets sold
  • Cost of 1x = 7 dollars
  • Cost of 1y = 16 dollars
  • Baseball team: 36 more x than y
    ⇒ x = 36 + y
  • Fundraiser raised 574 dollars in total
    ⇒ 7x + 16y = 574 dollars

Question: How many individual tickets were sold? (What is the value of x?)

Here are all the equations we have created:

  • x = 36 + y
  • 7x + 16y = 574

We can solve for the value of x using systems of equations.

First, isolate y in the first equation:

x = 36 + y\\y=x-36

Now, plug this into the second equation:

7x + 16y = 574\\7x + 16(x-36)= 574\\7x+ 16x-586= 574\\23x=1150\\\\x=\dfrac{1150}{23}\\\\x=50

Therefore, x is equal to 50.

Answer

50 individual tickets were sold.
