I’m currently a 8th grader going into High School next year. I really hope one day I could go to a selective/private school or a

UC school (some include UC Berkeley, UCLA, NYU, and Cornell) I know that most of these school require students to take the SAT/ACT. I want to do good on these test and hopefully get a good score. My question is when should I start studying for these test and what are some of the best tips to study effectively.

Answer:

you should probably study now if you want to go to private schools and the best tip of studying is turning off your devices either phone or sisters/brothers device as those thing will distract you from studying and since i have no idea how private school work you should probably get a high score on it since that what i think they want

Ayoo i would say maybe start studying now but gradually work your way up ya know and to make sure that when youre in highschool to get good grades also try making a journal and writing things down 3x- 5x so you remeber it more and maybe chew gum while youre studying as ive heard that works too?

2x + y = 8 find four solutions
Tcecarenko [31]

Answer:

see explanation

Step-by-step explanation:

Choose any value for x, substitute into the equation and solve for y, that is

x = - 1

2(- 1) + y = 8

- 2 + y = 8 ( add 2 to both sides )

y = 10

---------

x = 0

2(0) + y = 8

0 + y = 8

y = 8

----------------

x = 1

2(1) + y = 8

2 + y = 8 ( subtract 2 from both sides )

y = 6

---------------

x = 3

2(3) + y = 8

6 + y = 8 ( subtract 6 from both sides )

y = 2

----------------

4 possible solutions are (- 1, 10 ), (0, 8 ), (1, 6 ) and (3, 2 )

Find the sale price to the nearest cent.

$4.30 makeup; 40% discount; 6% tax
katrin [286]

Answer:

Sale price is $2.58.

Paid with tax is $2.73

Step-by-step explanation:

If the make-up is originally $4.30 and you receive a 40% discount. This means you'll pay 60% of the price since 100-40=60.

To find this price, 60% as 0.6 is multplied with the price. 0.6*4.30 = $2.58

This is the sale price.

When you pay you will pay 6% tax or 0.06 of the price. Find this by multiplying $2.58 by 1.06.

2.58(1.06) = $2.73

t/5 = 2.9
For the first step, I would multiply both sides by 5, to get rid of the fraction.

That will leave
t = 14.5

So with what you have on your screen, I would drag “x” and “5” to both sides of the equation.
