Answer:2 in.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given

Dimension of photo frame is 20\ in.\times 24\ in.

If the photo cover an area of 320\ in.^2

Suppose x be the width of border

Therefore dimension of frame without border is

A'=(20-2x)(24-2x)

And A' must be equal to 320\ in.^2

So,

\Rightarrow (20-2x)(24-2x)=320

\Rightarrow (10-x)(12-x)=80

\Rightarrow 120-10x-12x+x^2=80

\Rightarrow x^2-22x+40=0

\Rightarrow x^2-20x-2x+40=0

\Rightarrow (x-2)(x-20)=0

Thus there are two values of x out of which x=20\ in. is not valid because it is not feasible

thus width of border is x=2\ in.

solong [7]
From the figure shown:
Given that k=89, then:
c=g=k=o=s=w=89
b=f=j=n=r=v=89
d=h=l=p=t=x=180-89=91
a=e=i=m=q=u=91
thus the sum of <span> s,e,q,u,o,i,a will be:

A ceiling fan with 16-in. blades rotates at 45 rpm.
Kobotan [32]

A. We're told the fan completes 45 full revolutions every minute. One full revolution is 2\pi\,\mathrm{rad}, so the fan has an angular speed of

\dfrac{2\pi\,\mathrm{rad}}{1\,\mathrm{rev}}\cdot\dfrac{45\,\mathrm{rev}}{\mathrm{min}}=90\pi\dfrac{\rm{rad}}{\rm{min}}

B. Throughout one full revolution of the fan, a point at the tip of one of the fan's blades travels the circumference of a circle with radius 16 in. The circumference is then 2\pi(16\,\mathrm{in})=32\pi\,\mathrm{in}. This means the linear speed is

\dfrac{32\pi\,\mathrm{in}}{1\,\mathrm{rev}}\cdot\dfrac{45\,\mathrm{rev}}{\mathrm{min}}=1440\pi\,\dfrac{\rm{in}}{\rm{min}}
