LekaFEV [45]

Heroes come in many forms. Some such as immense in size and strength as  Hercules, some in the form of people that are shunned upon, such as Harriet  Tubman, and some that are only valorous heroes to some, such as Kurt Cobain.  These heroes have many characteristics that make people flock to their side and  follow them without a thought of hesitation. In Sophocles' Antigone the hero  is a women that believes in her heart far stronger than that of her leader's  rule. What quality of A Doll's House likely contributed to Henrik Ibsen becoming known as the Father of Modern Drama?
nydimaria [60]

A Doll's House discusses the traditional 19th century marriage. What Ibsen did in the play was considered controversial during those times. The play became significant for the depiction a woman's lack of opportunity in finding her place in a male-dominated society. Because of its criticism of social norm during that time it became so popular, but also controversial at the same time.

In "To a Poor Old Woman," which symbolic importance or meaning do the plums take on?
storchak [24]

In "To a Poor Old Woman," the plums represent the simple joys of life, which are available to anyone.

In this poem, the narrator observes a “poor old woman” eating plums from a paper bag, which makes him think about its taste. He knows that plumps are not really expensive neither extraordinary, and that's why he supposes that the woman is poor, since she seems not to have eaten plums in a long time.

This represents a joy of life for her, while for other people it's something normal.
