A sculptor needs to lift a piece of marble. It is a cuboid with dimensions 1m by 0.6 m by 0.3 m. Marble has a density of 2.7 g/c
geniusboy [140]
P = m/v
To find the mass you have to do Density x Volume.
The volume of the cuboid is 0.18 m cubed and the density is 2.7g/cm cubed.
The 2.7 g/cm cubed must be converted into kg/m cubed to find the mass in kg. Which is 2,700 kg/ m cubed.
2,700 x 0.18 = 486 kg.
The mass of the marble in kg is 486kg

What is the length of side bc in the right triangle below
Fynjy0 [20]

Answer:

B

Step-by-step explanation:

Since the triangle is right use Pythagoras' identity to solve for BC

The square on the hypotenuse is equal to the sum of the squares on the other 2 sides, that is

BC² = AB² + AC² ← substitute values

BC² = 18² + 80² = 324 + 6400 = 6724 ( take the square root of both sides )

BC = \sqrt{6724} = 82 → B

Triangle QRS has coordinates Q(-2, -2), R(0, 3), and S(4, -2) and is dilated by a scale factor of 2. Determine the new coordinat
o-na [289]

Given:

Triangle QRS has coordinates Q(-2, -2), R(0, 3), and S(4, -2) and is dilated by a scale factor of 2.

To find:

The new coordinates of point S', and state whether the dilation is an enlargement or a reduction.

Solution:

If a figure is dilated by factor k with origin as center of dilation, then

(x,y)\to (kx,ky)

Where, 0<k<1 is reduction and k>1 is enlargement.

The figure is dilated by scale factor 2 which is greater than 1, so the dilation is an enlargement. The rule of dilation is:

(x,y)\to (2x,2y)

Using this rule, we get

S(4,-2)\to S'(2(4),2(-2))

S(4,-2)\to S'(8,-4)

Therefore, the new coordinates of point S' are (8,-4).
