today an increasing percentage of women are having fewer children. Women now
have the freedom of choice whether to have children or not and how many children
they would have. Also, with the increasing spread of family planning and the
use of contraceptives, women can control when to have children. This was
impossible to do in the past. Women were mostly at home whose main duty was to
take care of the family.

A king would need supporters (soilders) first, because if no one approved of his ruling style or policies not many would want to fight for him, unless he requires a mandatory "draft like" situation to get more soilders. Also, he would need money to buy resources. Some resources he may need to enlarge his army would be suffiecent weapons, protective armor, and the latest war techiqnology of the time.
