Read a list of ideas for a literary analysis of part 4 of The Call of the Wild. 1. Buck works hard and insists that his sledmate

s do their fair share. 2. Dave, sick and weak, insists on being harnessed to pull the sled. 3. By the time they arrived at Skaguay, Buck and the other dogs were "on their last legs." Caleb concludes his essay by writing, "In conclusion, pride is powerful." How can Caleb revise his conclusion to make it more clear? Sometimes living beings are so filled with pride that we do things that are harmful or detrimental to our well-being. Pride alone causes people and animals to do things that they otherwise would never do. Even when conditions are dismal or less than ideal, pride is often a powerful force that guides the actions of living creatures. Taking pride in a job well done is something that Buck is ruled by throughout the entire story.'

Answer:

Sometimes living beings are so filled with pride that we do things that are harmful or detrimental to our well-being.

Explanation:

This is the statement that would make Caleb's conclusion clearer. In this statement, we learn that Dave is sick and weak, but his pride motivates him to try to pull the sled anyway. Moreover, Buck and the other dogs work extremely hard, so much so that they are "on their last legs" towards the end. This shows that sometimes living being are so filled with pride that we do things that are harmful or detrimental to our well-being.

The correct literary analysis for Part 4 of Call of the Wild is 2. Dave, sick and weak, insists on being harnessed to pull the sled.

Instead of saying "In conclusion, pride is powerful," Caleb can revise his conclusion by saying, "Sometimes living beings are so filled with pride that we do things that are harmful or detrimental to our well-being.

Which statement BEST describes the organization of the ideas in the text?
ollegr [7]

Answer:

D

Explanation:

You always want to put it in order. You never want to put the best part in the beginning. That as always left at the end. This is because it keeps the audience or the reader more into the story where they want to keep on reading till the end. if you put it at the beginning and then there's no reason to keep on reading it would have been a waste of time writing the whole story.

The answer would be metaphor.

A metaphor is a figure of speech that describes an object or action in a way that isn’t literally true, but helps explain an idea or make a comparison.

Here are the basics:

A metaphor states that one thing is another thingIt equates those two things not because they actually are the same, but for the sake of comparison or symbolism.

If you take a metaphor literally, it will probably sound very strange (are there actually any sheep, black or otherwise, in your family?)

Metaphors are used in poetry, literature, and anytime someone wants to add some color to their language.
