Nixon demanded his privilege as head of the executive branch to deny access to certain information to the other powers. The supreme court ruled that he should be required to reveal the documents and tapes he had under guard.
The fourth amendment prohibits searching homes without warrants. A good way to remember this is: "You cannot come forth into my home without a warrant."
