Answer:

The protagonist of the story would be Louisa. She is not necessarily a hero, but one of the main characters in the story. Many of the events and plot that happens reflects on Louisa. The main conflict in the story is when Louisa is asked to marry Bounderby, someone she does not love and barely knows. She is forced by her father, Mr. Gradgrind, and manipulated to marry him. Louisa was raised on Gradgrind’s philosophy of using only facts and concealing your emotions. She does not know how to behave and react like a normal human being, and hates her father for this. She would be the protagonist of the story because who the reader vouches for the most is her. She is the character readers want to be happy and feel emotions for what she goes through in the story.
