Answer:

The best thing to do when confronted with biased language is

B. challenge bigoted remarks and perception.

Explanation:

Unfortunately, everyone carries some stereotypes in their minds. Some people might be more open to let go of them, trying to perceive others in a less judgmental light. But there are those who cling to their preconceptions as if it were a floater that will keep them from drowning in the ocean of diversity.

When we interact with biased people, there is a great chance we will be confronted with bigoted remarks. Of course, empathy is always important when dealing with anyone. It is very useful to try and understand that person's background, how they were raised, where they lived and under which circumstances etc. Still, understanding and remaining silent is not the best approach. Confronting their preconceptions may help them be more open-minded, may teach them there is a different perspective to use. It must be done carefully, however. Aggressiveness will only trigger more automatic responses instead of giving them a chance to truly reflect on the subject.

Read these stage directions from Eugene O'Neill's play The Straw.
Alja [10]

Answer:

B: The play takes place over the course of four months.

Explanation:

I'm 95% sure I'm right on this. It can't be A because there are not two scenes in act 3. I don't think it would be C because a Sanatorium isn't just for kids. I don't think it would be D because only one scene actually took place in the Sanatorium, the other scenes were just in the vicinity. I'm pretty sure it's B, but you can decide if you want to go with that answer. I really, really hope this helps. I'm so very sorry if my answer is wrong. Have a great day and good luck. :D
