Complete Question

The complete question is shown on the first uploaded image

Answer:

The statement comparing the function is   y =  - \frac{1}{25} x + 15.8

Step-by-step explanation:

First thing  to do is generate equation for  Z

    We have that

               at x_1  = 0 ,y_1  =  15.8   i.e \  S(x_1 , y_1) = S(0,15.8)

           and at  x_2  =  1 , \   y_2 =  15.76   i.e \  A(x_2 , y_2) = S(1,15.76)

Now                 y =   m x + c

        m is the slope which is mathematically represented as

               m =  \frac{15.76 - 15.8}{1 -0}

                m =- 0.04

So the equation of the line is mathematically represented as

                y - y_1 =  m (x -x_1)

                 y -  15.8 =  m (x -0)

                  y =  -0.04 x + 15.8

                 y =  - \frac{1}{25} x + 15.8

What is the answer to this question 7z +19/2 = 13
Anarel [89]

Answer: z=1/2 or 0.5

Step-by-step explanation: 1. Subtract 19/2 to both sides. 13-19/2 is equal to 7/2 or 3.5." So then you're left with 7z=3.5

2. Divide by 7 to both sides. 3.5/7= 0.5.

3. z=0.5

Verify that -tan2x = (2tanx) / (sec^2x - 2)
sashaice [31]

Answer:

Below.

Step-by-step explanation:

- tan 2x =   -2tanx / (1 - tan^2x)

Using the identity  tan^2x = sec^2x - 1 and substituting for tan^2x:

- tan 2x = -2 tanx / (1 - (sec^2x - 1))

=   2 tanx / ( - 1(sec^2x + 2))

= 2 tan x / (sec^2 x - 2)

In establishing warranties on HDTV sets, the manufacturer wants to set the limits so that few will need repair at the manufactur
Novosadov [1.4K]

Answer:

If the warranty limits are at 41.12 months, only 10 percent of the HDTVs need repairs at the manufacturer's expense.

Step-by-step explanation:

Problems of normally distributed samples can be solved using the z-score formula.

In a set with mean \mu and standard deviation \sigma, the zscore of a measure X is given by

Z = \frac{X - \mu}{\sigma}

The Z-score measures how many standard deviations the measure is from the mean. After finding the Z-score, we look at the z-score table and find the p-value associated with this z-score. This p-value is the probability that the value of the measure is smaller than X, that is, the percentile of X. Subtracting 1 by the pvalue, we get the probability that the value of the measure is greater than X.

In this problem, we have that:

For a new HDTV the mean number of months until repairs are needed is 36.84 with a standard deviation of 3.34 months. This means that \mu = 36.84, \sigma = 3.34.

Where should the warranty limits be set so that only 10 percent of the HDTVs need repairs at the manufacturer's expense?

This is the value of X when Z has a pvalue of 0.90.

Looking at the z-table, we get that this is between Z = 1.28 and Z = 1.29, so we use Z = 1.285.

Z = \frac{X - \mu}{\sigma}

1.28 = \frac{X - 36.84}{3.34}

X - 36.84 = 1.28*3.34

X = 41.12

If the warranty limits are at 41.12 months, only 10 percent of the HDTVs need repairs at the manufacturer's expense.
