Thus, a viewer watching three hours of prime-time programs on the major networks would be exposed to more than 100 commercials in addition to programming promotions, and public social announcements (PSAs). The problem is even greater during popular shows, to which the networks add more commercials because they can charge more. Discuss reasons (4 reasons) for this phenomenon clutter. Answer: The advertising industry is used for mainly three reasons. Commercial, social, and politically. The advertisements may have a profit if it is commercial and creates an awareness if it is social whereas to get more votes out of an election for political reasons.
