PLSS HELPPPP:

What was the main motivation for japan’s imperialistic rise to power?
iren [92.7K]

Answer:

The emergence of imperial Japan

Foreign affairs

Achieving equality with the West was one of the primary goals of the Meiji leaders. Treaty reform, designed to end the foreigners’ judicial and economic privileges provided by extraterritoriality and fixed customs duties was sought as early as 1871 when the Iwakura mission went to the United States and Europe. The Western powers insisted, however, that they could not revise the treaties until Japanese legal institutions were reformed along European and American lines. Efforts to reach a compromise settlement in the 1880s were rejected by the press and opposition groups in Japan. It was not until 1894, therefore, that treaty provisions for extraterritoriality were formally changed.

What was the nineteenth-century painting style that depicted people or objects exactly as they appeared in real life?
sweet [91]
The nineteenth-century painting style that depicted people or objects exactly as they appeared in real life is realism. As its name says, realism depicts something real, and in a realistic manner. The artist paints only what he or she sees, without personal impressions about the object of art, which is the case in impressionism. Romanticism tends to show exaggerated and distorted art, whereas realism depicts what is seen in real life.

How did issues of race and gender impact the admission of western states into the union?
Semmy [17]
When it comes to race it usually delayed the admissions of the states into the Union. For example the states with majority population consisting of Mexicans and Native Americans were not allowed into the Union until the Congress opened those lands for white settlers. The issue of gender impacted the admissions less, the difference was in the level of commitment to the women's rights.
