How did Mussolini plan to “restore the power and glory of the Roman Empire
Gennadij [26K]

Mussolini planned tor restore the glory of the Roman Empire by taking over the neighboring lands.

Explanation:

Mussolini used a rather strong argument for his own fascist and imperialistic tendencies by evoking Rome and its glorious empire of the past.

The insistence was that if the law of Mussolini was followed the people could realistically go back to the days of the roman empire, something that was quite improbable in the modern world.

He was willing to do this by expanding military might and by subjugating the other nations around Italy.

Read the excerpt:
Marat540 [252]

Based on this excerpt, we can infer that the point that Ida B. Wells is trying to make is that D. White men rarely embrace progressive ideas without a financial motive.

Ida Bell Wells was:

  • A journalist who reported on the racist actions of white people in the United States, especially in the South
  • A Civil rights leader
  • A key individual in the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP).

In this excerpt, Ida Bells is saying that in order to get a White man to listen to anything, one would need to convince them that there is a financial gain to be made.

In reference to the Progressive Era therefore, we can infer that Wells was of the opinion that White men would only support progressive ideals if they stood to make something from it.

In conclusion, Ida Wells was saying that white men rarely embrace progressive ideals unless they stand to gain financially.

England started the Navigation Acts in the mid-1600s to
Hunter-Best [27]

In the 1600s, for Britain to restrict colonial trade, the Navigation Acts were made. The Parliament made the Acts to protect the British shipping against the Dutch and other foreign powers. The competition in trading was very evident during that time thus this was one of their purposes. Another is for Britain to have monopoly on colonial commodities like tobacco and sugar. During that time, the principle of mercantilism dominated when it comes to the economic system. The context stated that the nation’s wealth depends on accumulated supply of gold. As per conventional wisdom, wealth is limited because there is also a limited supply of gold. And imperialism states that primarily colonies, preferably through the discovery of gold but also through the production of natural resources, expanded its wealth. Mercantilist model states that open trade could only result to loss of wealth and this was what the Navigation Acts wanted to lessen if not abolish. The Acts were made for the purpose of retaining the imperial realm’s wealth where trading power had to utilize the colonies’ resources within a closed- trade system.
