Can someone help me make up 3 topics on how social media has influenced the news?
jekas [21]

Answer:

 • Back in the days of exclusively newspaper, news had to be important. An obituary, an event, something relevant to the world with the most minute thing being an ad or three. Now in the days where every headline click gives news media a bit of money, news can be whatever it pleases as long as it's eye catching. This subtracts from the point of real news, education, in favor of quicker bucks.
 • A positive to modern news is it's accessibility. Anyone with a phone, which is the majority of the population, can freely view it. Save for a few communist countries like Russia and China, news is no longer limited to those who can afford it.
 • There is a downside to this accessibility however, as it makes people more liable to misinformation if they rely on the news for information instead of doing their independent research. A majority of people are codependent on the news, so this is a problem that can easily be fixed if research is further implemented into the standard education system.

Identify the sentence which represents a SHIFT in the style and syntax of the language used in this text. A) sentence 1 B) sente
kicyunya [14]

The text the question is referring to is the following:

(1)A robot is a machine that is able to perform a variety of tasks through the use of a computer. (2)This computer is programmed to control movements of the robot's legs, arms, and other appendages by calculations of the various angles through which the robot's joints move. (3)Robots are made ideal for assembly line factory work by these repetitive movements. (4)Some robots are able to handle small parts that fit into small places. (5)Other robots are able to operate tools, such as paint sprayers.1

(6)Robots may even be developed with a sense of vision through the use of TV cameras as eyes. (7)Scanning images and calculating sizes and positions of surroundings will help robots to perform many actions in the way that humans do. (8) I want a robot to do my homework.

Answer:

D) sentence 8

Explanation:

The overall text has a formal and impersonal style, free of idioms, contractions, and subjective opinions, and its syntax (the way in which words are combined to form proper sentences) follows the formula of subject + verb (mainly the verb “to be”). But sentence 8 does not follow this pattern. This sentence seems out of place: It expresses a desire (it is personal), it is not descriptive, uses informal words, and follows the syntax subject + verb + object.
