Which statement best characterizes Andrew Jackson?
maw [93]

B. Jackson was not born from wealth and respected by common people.

Jackson was the first president to come from a state other than the original 13 (he was from Tennessee) and was a military leader before becoming president. Jackson was an ordinary man with little education compared to the presidents who preceded him. He was a general known for fighting aggressively with anyone willing to fight with him. He had been in numerous bar fights and duels. Jackson related to the common man and argued the government had become to centralized and the people had lost their voice. He pushed for states' rights and a descaled federal government.

Why did american industrialists in the late 19th century generally support expansion into overseas colonies
Allisa [31]

Answer

These areas would provide new sources of raw materials and customers.

Explanation;

-Imperialism refers to the economic, military, and cultural influence of the United States on other countries.

- The late nineteenth century was known as the "Age of Imperialism," a time when the United States and other major world powers rapidly expanded their territorial possessions.

- American imperialism is partly based on American exceptionalism, the idea that the United States is different from other countries because of its specific world mission to spread liberty and democracy.

-Americans supported the idea of overseas expansion in the late 1800's because they wanted to expand trade to Latin America, to spread democracy, to politically influence the other countries, and expand so America has more territory.
