One day a dreamy a couple decided to go for a walk on the beach. They were driving through the city and saw the beautiful sunset. It was purple, and pink and yellow. It was the most beautiful thing that ever seen. As they drove along to the beach, the sunset started changing colors. They look back behind them and it was the same purple and yellow and pink. But as they stand in front of them it was blue and yellow and you could see the glimmering sun shining in the sky, trying to hide it self behind the water. As they were Driving home they noticed that the sunset in the sky we’re changing colors again. They went and rushed to the backyard and saw that the clouds were orange in the sky was a beautiful color of purple and they sat at the pool and listen to the birds chirping, in the grasshoppers jumping out for the night, instead of each other in awe of the beautiful sunset they just saw.

Which sentences correctly use quotations from "A Modest Proposal"? Check all that apply.
Natalka [10]
In my opinion, the sentences that correctly use quotations are:

2) Swift asserts that whoever finds “a fair, cheap and easy method” for solving the overwhelming issue of poverty in England would deserve to have “his statue set up for a preserver of the nation.” The author quotes chosen parts of Swift's narrative with correct punctuation.

4) Swift explains that his proposal would bring relief to impoverished parents because they would “be rid of the charge of maintaining them after the first year.” The author quotes a part of the narrative.

5) “This would be a great inducement to marriage, which all wise nations have either encouraged by rewards, or enforced by laws and penalties,” writes Swift about his proposal. The author quotes an entire sentence as direct speech.

The first example isn't correct because the whole sentence is in quotation marks. The third one isn't correct either because there is no quotation; it is just a paraphrase.
