Describe the economic challenges facing developing nations.

History
1 answer:
Over [174]4 years ago
8 0

Answer:

 • Today, the problems facing developing countries revolve around what are generally called “structural constraints” to development.
 • First among these is geography—not just in the historical sense described above—but also in the more contemporary aspect that a modern economy cannot function without a division and diversification of labor.
 • Thus, countries with small populations may have trouble developing and gaining access to markets, while landlocked countries may struggle to integrate with global markets and expand their economies.
 • Common constraints on development are high economic poverty, hunger, high mortality rates, unsafe water supplies, poor education systems, corrupt governments, war, and poor sanitation. These factors all combine to create what the World Bank calls “poverty traps”—cycles that must be broken for countries to develop.
 • Countries can avoid poverty traps, however, with strong policies. Likewise, geographic advantages do not always result in sound development .

What would result if everyone became self-sufficient?
Naddika [18.5K]

Answer:

D. there would be no need for markets to purchase goods and services

Explanation:

Self sufficiency which the act whereby an individual can be able to meet his or her needs without recourse the seeking help whatsoever from another person. This is an etopiain scenario projected which is hardly reliasiable as a result of everyone needing help at one point or the other over the course of his or her living on earth.

For example, someone that is good in electrical repairs would need the help of someon who is good in farming for his or her daily feeding inorder to stay living and vice versa. This he could achieve through the act of buying and selling either by trade by barter or using money.

If everyone become self sufficient, that simply means that there would be no need for buying and selling of goods and services.
