Answer:

It provides the foundation for a word’s meaning.

Explanation:

Let's say, for example, you encountered the word "unhappiness" within a reading text. And, let's say that you had no idea whatsoever what the affixes -un and -ness meant. You would at the very least be able to recognize (a form of) the word 'happy' as the root of the larger word and know that the word had something to do with the concept of "happy."

Some ideas:

For an essay about pandas: While it might not seem like it, pandas are masters of camouflage in their forest environment.

For an essay about Rosa Parks: On December 1, 1955, Rosa Parks said no.

For an essay about space travel: Imagine holding on to the edges of your seat while hurtling out into distant space, dreaming of worlds beyond.

You don't have to use any of those, they're just suggestions. :) Happy essay writing!

Which points to the passage provide valid support for Warren's argument that women deserve equal pay for equal work? Select Vali
snow_lady [41]
Women are the main breadwinners in two-thirds of families across the country. - Valid reasoning. This does support the argument by showing the damage the unequal pay does not only to those women, but also to their families.

Employers pay different workers different salaries based on skill level. - Invalid reasoning. Women don't demand to be paid more than the men who happen to have better skills, but simply to be paid equally when they have equal skills.

Paying people different salaries for the same work is discrimination. - Valid reasoning. That is the basic argument, leveled up. It would be the same as paying all blue-haired men more than the brown or black-haired, when they are doing the same work, with the same skills.

Women's incomes are needed for the survival of their families. - Valid reasoning. Just like in the first case, this one shows that this issue doesn't only concern women, but their families - finally, their husbands, the very ones who are paid better for equal work.

Women are ready to fight back against pay discrimination. - Invalid reasoning. This doesn't have anything to do with the issue itself. It is just a reaction to it, but it doesn't support it.

I have to look for the true meaning of this poem: I saw a man pursuing the horizon. Please tell me what you think about it and a
eimsori [14]

Answer and Explanation:

The poem addresses the tragedy of a man who seeks an impossible dream. In this case, we can consider that the hoprizon that he pursues is an allegory for this dream, because the more the man walks, the more he tries he cannot reach the horizon that always goes further, that is, he never managed to achieve the dream you so desire.

The people around this man will say that his effort is useless, since reaching the horizon and the dream is impossible, but he desires it so strongly that he will continue to try and ignore everyone around him.
