In order to answer this question, I'll have to get that equation
in standard form  ===>  y = mx + b .

                                          14x + 4y  =            24

Subtract  14x from each side:        4y  =  -14x + 24

Divide each side by  4 :                  y  =  -3.5x + 6

There's the standard form we need  ==>   y  =  -3.5x + 6

That  -3.5  is our slope.
That  6  is our y-intercept.

Solve the compound inequality.
aivan3 [116]

Option D:

x

Solution:

Given compound inequality:

6-x>15 \text { or } 2 x-9 \geq 3

Let us first solve 6-x>15.

Subtract 6 from both sides.

6-x-6>15-6

-x>9

To reverse the inequality multiply by -1  on both sides.

(-x)(-1)

x

Now solve the next inequality 2 x-9 \geq 3.

Add 9 on both sides.

2 x-9+9 \geq 3+9

2 x \geq 12

Divide by 2 on both sides.

$\frac{2 x}{2} \geq \frac{12}{2}

x \geq 6

Combine the inequality.

x

Option D is the correct answer.

For the transformation T, write the T-1.
Norma-Jean [14]
Answer: Choice B) (1/2x, y - 5)

The original transformation T takes some point (x,y) and turns it into (2x, y+5). What's going on with the coordinates? Well x is doubled to 2x while y is having 5 added to it. To get the inverse, we simply undo everything happening to the coordinates. We do the opposite.

Going from x to 2x has us multiply by 2. To backwards, we divide by 2. This is the same as multiplying by 1/2. At this point, the only answer is B. So we could stop here if we wanted. But let's keep going.

To go from y to y+5, we add on 5. Undo this by subtracting 5. So the inverse would be y-5.

That's why the inverse transformation is (1/2x, y-5)
