The best thing that inhabitants can do to reduce loss of life during a tsunami is to engage in an evacuation drill in some areas that are particularly vulnerable to earthquakes, and therefore, tsunamis. More specifically, these areas would be low lying neighborhoods that border the coasts.

Geographically speaking, Southern Italy and Greece are the most seismic regions of the Mediterranean, so evacuation drills should ideally be held there.
