How does the size of the senate affect its operation?
Andrews [41]
I would argue that the respective sizes of each house affect each other little. The House of Representatives has 535 members where as the Senate has 100. The actual number in each house has little to do with their operations. Bills are still drafted, debated, and voted upon in each house. Each house needs to approve a bill in order for it to come across the President's desk. The make up of each house, however, can have a huge effect. Take the current congress for example. There is a republican majority in the House of Representatives, and a democratic majority in the Senate.

Using what you read in the article and in Bolívar's
sineoko [7]

Bolivar himself was a big believer in the ideas of Enlightenment. Enlightenment era ideas were based upon equality and Justice and Bolivar himself understood that all humans are created equal and have similar rights in front of the law.

Furthermore, his actions spoke louder than words. He and his family owned several slaves and he freed all of them. Something that was unprecedented for his time.

He was also a firm believe in limited the power of leaders but unlike US-style democracy, he instead developed in a strong Federal Government and Executive branch to run a country.

About how many times larger was the Union army than the Confederate army
Llana [10]
The Union army was about twice the size of the Confederate army. According to the National Park Service records, there were roughly 2.6 million members enlisted in the Union Army. On the other hand, there were only about 750,000-1.2 million people enlisted in the Confederate army. This shows how the Union had a significant advantage throughout the Civil War.
