Answer:

The people inside the safety of the house were calm and composed as compared to the wreaking storm that is outside.

Explanation:

Kate Chopin's short story "The Storm" tells the story of how a devastating storm plays a backdrop for the affair between the main protagonist and her lover. This storm is a literal shield for their tryst that starts and ends with the storm.

The first 27 lines of the story presents an image of two contrasting scenes where the father-son duo were stuck in the shop while the mother stays at home. Bobinôt and his son Bibi were stuck in the shop after the storm began to start, with the clouds <em>"rolling with sinister intention from the west,  accompanied by a sullen, threatening roar"</em>. But for Calixta, the storm wasn't known to her until a few moments later. She was sewing and had no realization of the storm brewing outside, <em>"ripping great  furrows in the distant field"</em>. She at times perspired, feeling hot, which seemed to foreshadow the trouble or rather the dilemma she will feel when Alcée Laballière  will come into her house.

Bezzdna [24]
A sentence fragment is a sentence that cannot stand on its own because it is incomplete and lacks an independent clause. So, the answer is "Tiny, weightless crystals." It's an incomplete sentence. To make it complete, you can rewrite it as "The snow is like tiny, weightless crystals."
