But a patch of ground in this trashy lot – I can change that. . . . Better to put my time into that than moaning about the other all day. That little grammar-school girl showed me that.

Answer:

The correct answer is option #1

"She has become an inspiration to him"

Explanation:

In this paragraph its made apparent Wendell has has many hardships in his past; he has accepted many things in his life he cant change. However he also makes it clear through this short excerpt that he can make a small change; the line " But a patch of ground in this trashy lot – I can change that" supports this. With that said its obvious by the last line... "That little grammar-school girl showed me that.", that said young girl inspired him to make this small yet positive change.

Which sound device are the words morrow, borrow,
liberstina [14]

Answer:

Which sound device(s) is the words morrow, borrow, and sorrow examples of? Rhyme.

Why does the speaker repeat sorrow?

The speaker repeats sorrow, because the poem is letting off the feeling of an errie, and sad feeling.

The use of rhyme would be:

"Eagrly I wished the morrow; -vainly I had sought to borrow."

There is also the sentence " Ah, distinctivly I remeber it was in the bleak december."

Bleak has mulitple meanings: Cold, empty, and grim.

Even though bleak has different meanings, those three words still make it sound sad, and depressing. <- Mood
