Distrust of a single leader with absolute power, a feeling based on bad experiences under the constraints of the British monarch
joja [24]
If your asking the reason why they did this is if you look at the process at which they did it. The articles of confederation failed as they gave government few powers. So in a basic social contract theory, they gave away a few rights and or freedoms for a mutual benefit. Also written in the constitution there is checks and balances, which was brought up in the federalist papers. This gained support for a new and updated government.

What were the two major political parties that emerged in the United States
aleksandr82 [10.1K]

Answer:

Mark me as brainlist

Explanation:

The Constitution did not establish political parties. President George Washington specifically warned against them. But early in U.S. history, two political groups developed. They were the Democratic-Republicans and the Federalists. Today, the two major political parties are the Democratic Party and the Republican Party. President Andrew Jackson created the Democratic Party from the Democratic-Republicans. The Republican Party took over from the Whigs as a major party in the 1860s. The first Republican president was Abraham Lincoln. Throughout U.S. history, there have been other parties. These parties have included the Know-Nothing (also called American Party), Bull-Moose (also called Progressive), Reform, and Green parties. They have played various roles in American politics. Political party membership in the United States is voluntary. Parties are made up of people who organize to promote their candidates for election and to promote their views about public policies.

Who was the property of the land during the Middle Ages?
Novay_Z [31]
It could be argued that the "serf" was the "property" of the land during the Middle Ages, since under the feudal system that reigned supreme during this time, serfs (or peasants) had very little rights of their own.
