Answer (not 100% sure): 3.2m

Explanation: I drew a diagram and dived all the measurements in meters by 10 to get cm which showed that the ladder (in the diagrams scale) was 32cm long but as i had divided i needed to time it by ten to get the answer. after multiplying 32cm by 10 i got 3.2 meters.

Hope this helps!

Answer:

The answer is 3.64m

This is because if you draw a diagram, and label all the sides of the triangle (opp, hyp, adj), the adjacent angle is 3m. You can now use the sine rule to find the hypotenuse (length of ladder) by doing: cos 30= 3/h. You divide cos 30 by 3 and you get the answer of 3.64m rounding to 2 decimal places.

AB is a common external tangent to circles D and C. The points of tangency are at A and B. DC = 13, BC = 2 and AD = 7.
lesya692 [45]

Based on the calculations, the length of side AB is equal to 13.93 units.

<h3>How to find the length of AB?</h3>

Since the points of tangency are at A and B, we would determine the side length of the point lying between side A and D as follows:

AM = AD - BC

AM = 7 - 2

AM = 5 units.

Now, we can determine the length of side AB by applying Pythagorean's Theorem:

AB² = BM² + AM²

AB² = 13² + 5²

AB² = 169 + 25

AB = √194

AB = 13.93 units.

Write an equation for an ellipse centered at the orgin, which has foci ( plus minus 3, 0) and co-vertices at (0, plus minus 4)
Vadim26 [7]

Answer:

The answer is below

Step-by-step explanation:

The co-vertices of an ellipse are the endpoints of the minor axis. The equation for an ellipse is given by:

\frac{(x-h)^2}{a^2} +\frac{(y-k)^2}{b^2}=1

Where (h, k) is the center of the ellipse, (h, k±b) is the co-vertices, (h ± a, k) is the vertices, (h ± c, k) is the foci and c² = a² - b²

Since the center is the origin, hence (h, k) = (0, 0). i.e h = 0, k = 0.

Foci = (h ± c, k) = (± c, 0) = (±3, 0). c = 3

co-vertices = (h, k±b)  = (0, ±b)  = (0, ±4). b = 4

c² = a² - b²

a² = c² + b²

a² = 3² + 4² = 25

a = 5

Therefore the equation of the ellipse is:

\frac{x^2}{5^2} +\frac{y^2}{4^2}=1 \\\\\frac{x^2}{25} +\frac{y^2}{16}=1
