History

The Smith Act and HUAC were ways in which the US government could investigate/punish people associated with communism.

For example, the Smith Act made it a federal offense to organize a group that advocate for the overthrowing of the American government. The US created this act after seeing what happened during the Russian Revolution and their citizens violent overthrow of the government.

The House Un-American Activities Committee (HUAC) was a committee created by the federal government. This committee, lead by the US Congress, could call in American citizens who were suspected of being communists or worked with the Soviet Union. Being called into this committee often left a negative social stigma around a person and would sometimes lead to an individual being blacklisted.

What are the differences in the fight for independence from Britain for Canada and the US?
Vikentia [17]

Answer:

The independence processes of the United States and Canada were very different from each other.

The United States obtained its independence from Great Britain after a war of independence that lasted from 1775 to 1783. That is, it was a violent and convulsive process, in which both nations faced each other to settle their directly opposed interests.

On the other hand, Canada walked its way towards independence in a peaceful way. In 1867 the Constitution Act was approved, which created the Dominion of Canada, with an autonomous government but subject to the laws of the British Parliament. Years later, in 1931, the Statute of Westminster was approved, establishing the legislative equality of the British and Canadian Parliament. Finally, in 1982, the Constitution of Canada eliminated dependence on the British Parliament.

Describe the route of the given voyage in the 1400 to 1650
Artist 52 [7]

Answer:

In 1400 A.D. Europeans probably knew less of the globe than they had during the Pax Romana. Outside of Europe and Mediterranean, little was known, with rumor and imagination filling the gaps. Pictures of bizarre looking people with umbrella feet, faces in their stomachs, and dogs' heads illustrated books about lands to the East. There was the legendary Christian king, Prester John with an army of a million men and a mirror that would show him any place in his realm
