KATE How many times have I told you not to leave your things around the house? EUGENE A hundred and nine. KATE What? EUGENE You

said yesterday, "I told you a hundred and nine times not to leave your things around the house." BLANCHE Don't be fresh to your mother, Gene! EUGENE (To the audience) Was I fresh? I swear . . . That's what she said to me yesterday . . . One day I'm going to put all this in a book or a play. I'm going to be a writer like Ring Lardner or somebody -- that's if things don't work out first with the Yankees, or the Cubs, or the Red Sox, or maybe possibly the Tigers . . . If I get down to the St. Louis Browns, then I'll definitely be a writer. —Brighton Beach Memoirs, Neil Simon Explain Eugene's perspective on what's happening in this scene. Answer:: In this passage, Eugene makes it clear that he doesn't understand why Kate gets mad at him. He doesn't think he was "fresh" to Kate because he gave her an honest answer. Based on what he tells the audience directly, he thinks the situation is so unbelievable, it would make a good book.

Answer/Explanation: Contrary to what Blanche thinks Eugene attitude to his Kate, his mum, portrays, Eugene in his own perspective believes he is not being rude to his mum. And finds the scene unbelievable as he uses rhetorics in swaying his audience to gain emotional pity to exonorate him from any blame or guilt. He simply tells Blanche that he was only relating exactly what his mum told him. Furthermore, he believes this particular scene that played out would be good to put in writing by him as a play or a book, as he tries to paint a scenario for the audience to judge.

amid [387]

Answer:

There’s a saying in brain science based on the work of Donald Hebb: neurons that fire together, wire together. The more they fire together, the more they wire together. In essence, you develop psychological resources by having sustained and repeated experiences of them that are turned into durable changes in your brain. You become more grateful, confident, or determined by repeatedly installing experiences of gratitude, confidence, or determination. Similarly, you center yourself increasingly in the Responsive, green zone – with an underlying sense of peace, contentment, and love – by having and internalizing many experiences of safety, satisfaction, and connection.

He had to toe the mark. Alice was really not unreasonable. She was just tidy and she didn't want to clean when she could prevent him from coming in with muddy shoes leaving dirt and grime all over the place, which she would later have to clean up.

I think she's thought out what she wants. He is trying to cooperate with her. Seems they have a pretty good relationship.
