Which of these excerpts from Homer’s Iliad contains an epic simile?
posledela

The excerpt from Homer’s Iliad which contains an epic simile is:

“As wasps, provoked by children in their play,

Pour from their mansions by the broad highway,

In swarms, the guiltless engage,

Whet all their stings, and call forth all their rage: traveler”

The simile in the above excerpt is 'like a swarm of bees.' A simile is a direct comparison between two things. It compares two things by using ‘as’ or ‘like.’ A simile is the figure of speech which directly compares two things which have some features common in them. In the above excerpt, the number of people has been compared with the swarm of bees.

Read this excerpt from a play.
Anarel [89]

Answer: The time period was from a time ago. At least before they had whiteboards and still when they had to use wooden ovens to keep warm instead of a heater. The chalkboards aren't used anymore and not many teachers refer to children as primary children.

Is it possible to have a society accepting of each other’s differences?
harina [27]

Answer: Not fully.

Explanation: Even in communist societies, where the concept is for everyone to have the same thing, there is tension between different groups for inherent traits. It depends on your definition of "differences". If there were a group of people who knew nothing of racism, sexism, or any other -ism, it still wouldn't be possible for a society to be entirely accepting of others' differences. For example, maybe someone doesn't like someone else because of the pitch of their voice or a certain personality trait. Those are differences that you may not accept. Other differences could be actions some view as unforgivable, such as theft. In conclusion, I don't believe it's possible to have a society that fully accepts one another's differences. It is possible to have one that gets along together well, or even claims to love each other in all ways, but there will always be conflict between person to person and person to self. It's just life.
