The Meiji period that followed the Restoration was an era of major political, economic, and social change in Japan. The reforms enacted during the Meiji emperor's rule brought about the modernization and Westernization of the country and paved the way for Japan to become a major international power.

The English and the Dutch were interested in the New World because they both wanted freedom of religion. The Pilgrims who came over from England came because they were being prosecuted for their religion. The Strangers, who were Dutch people coming over with the Pilgrims, were actually English people who had been kicked out of England because of their religions and moved to the Netherlands.

It showed a shift to a more aggressive stance in the fight for civil rights.  Previous civil rights advocates like Martin Luther King advocated reconciliation and non-violence.  Malcolm X called for a war against their oppressors as well as a separate Black nation.  The Black Panthers also had a similar belief which led them to come in conflict with law enforcement.
