Mammals, birds, reptiles, and amphibians all have two pairs of _________________. They are all tetrapods, or ___________________

__________________________ animals. In the fossil record, tetrapods first appeared about ______________ million years ago (Ma). Where did they come from?
The closest relatives of tetrapods are ____________. Fish and tetrapods are both vertebrates that have a backbone with a spinal cord. Fish predate (come before) tetrapods, because their _______________ appear in rocks that are more than ________ million years old. This observation leads to the hypothesis that tetrapods evolved from ____________.

If tetrapods evolved from fish, as Darwin predicted, you would expect to find ______________________________ fossils with features of both fish and tetrapods. In Darwin’s day, such fossils had not yet been found, but today, there are many such examples.

Why do living things share fundamental characteristics
Ghella [55]

Answer:

All living organisms share several key characteristics or functions: order, sensitivity or response to the environment, reproduction, growth and development, regulation, homeostasis, and energy processing. When viewed together, these characteristics serve to define life.

Life processes are important to carry out daily life activities. They help to produce energy and maintain homeostasis in the body. The life processes help a body survive with the changes in the environment.

Compare the movement of oxygen and carbon dioxide across the cell membrane. (4 marks)
lana66690 [7]

Answer:

Molecules naturally disperse from areas of higher concentration to lower concentration.

As oxygen-rich (and carbon dioxide-poor) blood travels by a cell the oxygen diffuses through the cell membrane to the area of lower concentration inside the cell. It can do this easily because the oxygen molecule (O2) is very small and has no charge or polarity. The oxygen is used up rapidly by mitochondria. This rapid consumption causes oxygen to constantly move into the cell from the blood.

The mitochondria creates carbon dioxide (CO2) as a waste product of cellular respiration (the process that makes energy for your body). Because the CO2 is of a higher concentration in the cell than in the blood passing by, this gas continually diffuses out of the cell. It too is small and uncharged so it can pass through cell membranes easily.

These movements require no energy (in the form of ATP) on behalf of the cell.

What protein is matched with its function? A. aquaporins – move water through the membrane by active transport B. carrier protei
worty [1.4K]

Answer:

C. channel protein - allow passage of material through the hydrophilic pore

Explanation:

Channel Protein is a transport protein that has an aqueous channel throughout its transmembrane molecule, which allows the free movement of certain ions or molecules through diffusion, allowing these materials to pass through the hydrophilic pore.

From this we can conclude that the correct answer to your question is the letter C.

Weigh is a measure of pull of gravity on an object true or false
user100 [1]

Answer:

The answer is "TRUE!"

Explanation:

Weight is a source of forceful motion that is generated by the pull of gravity. Gravity that is originated in the center of the earth, attracts smaller objects towards that center, in which the measurement of how strong that force really is, is weight.
