Answer:

(a + b)^2=(a+b)(a+b)=(a_{1}+b_{1})(a_{2}+b_{2})

a_{1}=a_{2}=a \text{ and }  b_{1}=b_{2}=b

I've done this way to make it easier to understand:

Using the distributive property, multipliying a_{1} \text{ and } a_{2}=a^2, a_{1} \text{ and } b_{2}=ab,

b_{1} \text{ and } a_{2}=ab, and b_{1} \text{ and } b_{2}=b^2:

(a + b)^2=a^2+ab+ab+b^2=a^2+2ab+b^2

It is the same for (a -b)^2

(a -b)^2=(a-b)(a-b)=a^2-2ab+b^2

and (a - b)(a + b)

(a - b)(a + b)=a^2+ab-ba-b^2=a^2-b^2

Solve for x: −2x + 5 &lt; 7 <br> Please Help Meh!! DO you LIKE to see people STRUGGLE?!?!
Arlecino [84]

x > -1

-2x+5 < 7

-2x<2

Now since you divide by (-1) to get positive 2,you need to flip the sign

(-2)/(-1)= 2     2/(-1)=-2

SO

2x>-2

x > -1

To check  the solution do not replace the x by -1 because it shouls be more than -1  (You can choose 0,1,2,3....)

Example  choose x=3

-2x3+5<7

-6+5<7

-1<7

Write x2 - 8x + 13 = 0 in the form (x - a)2 = b, where a and b are integers. a.)(x - 4)2 = 3 b.) (x - 3)2 = 2 c.)(x - 2)2 = 1 d.
loris [4]
The answer is <span>a.)(x - 4)2 = 3.

(x - a)</span>² = b can be expressed as:
x² - 2ax + a² = b                                 ⇒ x² - 2ax + a² - b = 0

Our equation is                x² - 8x + 13 = 0.
The general formula is    x² - 2ax + (a² - b) = 0

Thus:
8x = 2ax    and a² - b = 13

Divide both sides of the first equation (8x = 2ax) by x:
8 = 2a           ⇒ a = 8 ÷ 2 = 4

Replace a in the second equation (a² - b = 13):
4² - b = 13     ⇒ b = 4² - 13 = 16 - 13 = 3

Now when we have a and b, let's just replace them in the general equation:
(x - a)² = b
(x - 4)² = 3

Find the next 4 terms of this Fibonacci sequence -x, x+y, y
Vaselesa [24]

Answer:

see explanation

Step-by-step explanation:

Any term in a Fibonacci sequence is the sum of the previous 2 terms.

Given the first 3 terms then

a₄ = a₂ + a₃ = x + y + y = x + 2y

a₅ = a₃ + a₄ = y + x + 2y = x + 3y

a₆ = a₄ + a₅ = x + 2y + x + 3y = 2x + 5y

a₇ = a₅ + a₆ = x + 3y + 2x + 5y = 3x + 8y

Thus the next four terms are

x + 2y, x + 3y, 2x + 5y, 3x + 8y

The cost of packing a box of chocolates is given by 1/4x^2, where x is the number of chocolates (a box can never have fewer than
77julia77 [94]

The cost of packaging the box of chocolates per weight unit is;  ¹/₄x²/(x + 2)

<h3></h3><h3>How to Solve Algebra problems?</h3>

We are given the cost of packing the box as;

C(x) = ¹/₄x²

where;

x is the number of chocolates

We are told that a box can never have fewer than 3 chocolates.

Now, the weight of a box of chocolates is given by; W(x) = x + 2

Thus, cost per unit weight is;

C(x)/W(x) = ¹/₄x²/(x + 2)

What is the solution to y=2x+3 for the replacement set x={1.3}?
AysviL [449]
So if you have y=2x+3 you would just plug in x=1.3
So that would give you y=2(1.3)+3
y=2.6+3
y=5.6
hope this helps
