Confucianism influenced emperors of the late Yuan dynasty in that they practiced Confucianism alongside Mongol rituals. The Yuan dynasty was established by Mongol leader Kublai Khan to rule the territories of Mongolia and China. The Yuan dynasty followed the Song dynasty. It started in 1271 and ended with the beginning of the Ming dynasty in 1368. Kublai Khan allowed a combination of religious teachings that included Confucianism, that continued to spread throughout these territories due to the practice of some rituals. Confucianism was based on loyalty to the country and loyalty to the family, and it was practiced through some rituals.
