Primary Consumers like Herbivores will only obtain a very small fraction of the total solar energy captured by the producers ( green plants ), which is about 10 %. the other 90 % captured by the produces is used for thier growth, reproduction etc.

So straight forward, Primary Consumers get 10% of the original energy that comes from the sum
