8/3 = (3*2 +x)/3

a. 8/3 = (3*2+x)/3 

8/3 = (3*2+2)/3

so x = 2 bc. 8/3 = 2 2/3 

b.  
      3 1/6 = (3*6+1)/6

     3 1/6 = (18 +1)/6

     3 1/6 = 19/6

c.  1 - x= 3/8 

    1 -3/8 = x 

x = (8-3)/8

x = 5/8
