Moundville was a very large site in the Eastern Woodlands region of Native American settlement and it was said to even be the largest settlement in the region.

The Eastern Woodlands of the present day United States refers to the area on the Eastern Coast that extends from the border with Canada to Florida. This included areas like Alabama, Georgia, and the Carolina states.

Moundville was occupied by Native Americans of the Mississippian culture for about 400 years from the 10th century to the 15th century. Traces of their settlement can still be seen today in present day Alabama.

In conclusion, Moundville was in the Eastern Woodlands.
