Solve the system of equations.<br> 13x – 6y = 22<br> x = y + 6
GrogVix [38]

Answer:

y=-8\\x=-2

Step-by-step explanation:

13x-6y=22\\x=y+6

Replace x in the first equation.

13x-6y=22\\13(y+6)-6y=22\\13y+78-6y=22\\7y+78=22\\7y=22-78\\7y=-56\\y=\frac{-56}{7}\\ y=-8

Now replace y in any of the equations to find x.

x=y+6x=-8+6\\x=-2

What is the positive solution to the equation 0 = –x2 + 2x + 1? Quadratic formula: x = –2 + 2 – 1 + –1 +
Georgia [21]

The standard form of a quadratic equation is :

ax² + bx + c = 0

And the quadratic formula is:

x=\frac{-b\pm\sqrt{b^2-4ac}}{2a} .

So, first step is to compare the given equation with the above equation to get the value of a, b and c.

So, a = -1, b = 2 and c = 1.

Next step is to plug in these values in the above formula. Therefore,

x=\frac{-2\pm\sqrt{(2)^2-4*(-1)*(1)}}{2*(-1)}

=\frac{-2\pm\sqrt{4+4}}{-2}

=\frac{-2\pm\sqrt{8}}{-2}

=\frac{-2\pm\sqrt{4*2}}{-2}

=\frac{-2\pm\sqrt{4}*\sqrt{2}}{-2}

=\frac{-2\pm2*\sqrt{2}}{-2}

=-\frac{-2}{-2} \pm\frac{2\sqrt{2}}{-2}

So, x =1 \pm\sqrt{2} .

The University of Michigan's business school claims it has the highest average GPA in the Big 10 among its business students. Th
Tom [10]

Answer:

A

Step-by-step explanation:

The type I error arises when we wrongfully reject the null hypothesis. The probability of  occurrence of type I error is denoted as α. Thus, α=0.05 means that there is 5% probability that we reject the null hypothesis when it is true. So, we can say that the α=0.05, means that 5% of the time, we reject the null hypothesis when it is correct.
