Answer: I am in favor of more gun control.

Explanation: If we look back on our history of school shootings and mass murders, the guilty are very young. Having access to weapons at such a young age assists in the bad decision making of young, underdeveloped minds. I also think it would provide very necessary change in lower income/minority communities. I think gun violence in these communities would decrease immencely with stricter gun laws. (I personally lost one of my parents, a cousin, and a few friends to gun violence so I feel pretty strongly about this subject.)

Good luck! :)

LekaFEV [45]

Answer:

<em>"Come and show me another city with lifted head singing so proud..."</em>

Explanation:

"Chicago" (1914) is a poem written by Carl Sandburg (1878 – 1967), an American poet. It is about the U.S. city of Chicago.

The poem's fifth line calls Chicago "City of the Big Shoulders", which has been adopted as one Chicago's many nicknames.

Throughout the whole poem and these lines the poet has a very proud tone. When selecting from the provided lines, the pride is most clearly connoted by the use of words, <em>"Come and show me"</em> and <em>"lifted head singing so proud".</em>

Hemingway is known for his journalistic writing style. Which of these excerpts is an example of that style?
Vinvika [58]

The correct answer is option A ("What I will do if he decides to go down, I don't know. What I'll do if he sounds and dies I don't know. But I'll do something. There are plenty of things I can do").

We refer to journalistic style in writing as the use of certain devices, structures and resources that are most commonnly associated with news articles, chronicles and similar kinds of pieces. <u>They can be easily identified for the use of short sentences and paragraphs that have a very straight-forward feel to them. The message often feels urgent and we get the sense that the author is trying to quickly make their point.</u>

Example "A" presents many of these features while none of the others are brief or to-the-point at all.

Hope this helps!
